The Acting Section:                                                  [or how not to be yourself & get paid for it]

 There is a bit of a conflict when meeting a young actor or performer for the first time.

That conflict is :- do they have that burning passion to perform which will get them through the hard times, or would their interest be best served as a hobby with a local drama group?

Let's be clear it is my belief actors are born and not trained - oh ofcourse training plays a part - but that need to perform inside has been there almost from the start.

No matter how many obstacles are put in the way they come back fighting - that is an actor - or at least a successful one!

Also within my work character building with acting techniques is a legitimate resource.

It is not saying "you will become an actor" - but simply "you will become a more confident member of society.

This is particularly the case with those on the autistic spectrum, a major part of The Halfling Project portfolio.

When looking at Halfling Pro/Wildven work things change - here we have actors who have put their trust in acting as a career. The stakes are higher, and my approach more demanding.

Notice here I keep saying actors - but that's just to keep things simple - my work is for anyone who may benefit from it. This includes singers, dancers, performers of all kinds, sports and music.

It also includes those, who quite simply need to build up confidence in themselves.

My approach is aimed at fun - but with serious intent, all dependent on the aims of the individual.

I never forget if someone is aiming for performance as a career - it is deadly serious not just to them but me as well.

And yes sometimes that means pushing them further than they wish to go in range and performance. But the end result is they have a running chance of achieving their goal.

I have made it a policy decision of Wildven  that I remain one step back from the main industry, to avoid potential conflicts of interest.

Later I will explain what the work I do is about, and how it might benefit those at the start or their acting quest, or that of self discovery.

It's taken 10 years to get a formula I am happy with sharing - it's informal, basic but strangely effective and it's results that matter after all..
