What to include & bring for the first Halfling Project Intro Shoot.

A good part of the answer to this depends on the age and aims of the participant [s].

If it's to build up confidence and have fun that's one thing - if it's to work in the industry that's quite another.

The industry tends to be quite demanding and looks for talent that will deliver.

Limitations put onto photographers or directors etc just simply get in the way.

Remember also it's an international business, and different Countries have different attitudes to the depiction of childhood and young people.

Should the actor be 16+ be prepared for high confidence demands in castings.

Broadly speaking you should aim for formal and casual looks winter/summer  - multi season.

The whole school kit is a good as it covers anything from quite formal to sport kit.

It's important for an actor to go out of their natural persona so don't just look for things they look good in!!

Hat are good, and sports or leisure props...

With younger ones in particular even pj's can work well, particularly of modelling might be involved in future plans.

Holiday wear and swimwear is a good option to ensure and show body confidence, and keeps everything in context.

Normally at the end of the shoot we begin to raid stuff from here to build up a shoot or video piece which covers and illustrates what been achieved during the shoot and the individual ability and personal confidence level. This is also the time many say they enjoy most as it includes acting, getting into character, and pushing themselves in a fun way.

And this is the vital point - the day is to be enjoyed - and my feedback says it is!!
